sun... and colds

Its a gorgeous day out....

and all I want to do is sleep.

Go figure.

I'm going back to bed with my lovely cold and hoping *crosses fingers* that the weather is pretty tomorrow as well and that I'm feeling better.

Dora the explorer

Today was a productive Saturday...in my books, as of lately. Slept in (as much as possible hearing 3 kids playing above where I sleep!) After I ate breakfast it was time to break out the sewing machine...to hem some pants...I did the pair I bought right before I came here, Michelle had 3 or 4 and Belinda had a pair and did one for Sue... (ok, really Binds sewed them all, but we all pinned and ironed our own!) Yay me, now I know how to do a hem on pants!! So I have no excuses if I ever find myself in the same place as my own sewing machine!

While we were doing that the kids entertained themselves by playing in Dora's house...
First thing Oscar did was ride the bike in, which Bella wasn't too keen on...but then they took loads of toys in.

During nap time we played Skipbo...which I learned last night. I still haven't won!

Then it was time for more tea parties and playing in the house.

Tonight I'm home with the three kids while they're at a friends potluck. It was an interesting adventure getting the two girls to sleep. AHHH... its only 8:30 and I think each of them has cried 'MOOOOOOOM' a million times from a dead sleep!! **Now at 930... Oscar has woken up 3 times already and Bella is crying and hungry... its nights like this that are great reminders and birth control! As much as I love kids.. I love giving them back at night!

(not sure why the pics all posted sideways, they are all turned around after I loaded them onto the computer....ARGH)

Anzac Day

Happy Anzac Day! For those (like me) who didn't know what it was...here is a little info. "Anzac Day occurs on 25 April. It commemorates all New Zealanders killed in war and also honours returned servicemen and women." More importantly, the date marks the "anniversary of the landing of New Zealand and Australian soldiers – the Anzacs – on the Gallipoli Peninsula in 1915." While it led to a military defeat the day in history was the start of New Zealanders having a distinct nation, even if they were fighting on the other side of the world or in the name of the British Empire. (Remember, New Zealand only gained total independence from Great Britain in 1947)

~~I slept in today!! YAY! It was much needed after a crazy busy week. Its great to spend so much time with the kids but I felt like I was always with them and really just wanted to sleep! Carls sister and neice will be here later so we'll have a full house for the weekend, should be fun. I may go out and see if anything is happening in this tiny town since there are loads of people here for the long weekend. But...that involves me actually being productive and I'm quite enjoying sitting here doing absolutely nothing while the kids are upstairs!!

A good song

So the other day when we were at Waihi Beach, the kids were sleeping, and I was watching Oprah (mind you the Oprah here is last season, i believe) Miley Cyrus was on. I really liked the song with her and her dad... and the one she wrote about her grandfather had me crying. I was thinking about my dad and family thats passed and it was just cute coming from this little girl.

Here are the words..

Miley Cyrus - I Miss You

Sha-la-la-la-la
Sha-la-la-la-la

You used to call me your angel
Said I was sent straight down from Heaven
You'd hold me close in your arms
I loved the way you felt so strong
I never wanted you to leave
I wanted you to stay here holding me

I miss you, I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear every once and a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart will let you go, and I need you to know
I miss you, sha-la la la la, I miss you

You used to call me your dreamer
And now I'm livin' out my dream
Oh how I wish you could see
Everything that's happening for me
I'm thinking back on the past
It's true that time is flying by too fast

I miss you, I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear every once and a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go, and I need you to know
I miss you, sha-la la la la, I miss you

I know your in a better place, (yeah)
But I wish that I could see your face (oh)
I know you are where you need to be
Even though it's not here with me

I miss you, I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear every once and a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go, and I need you to know
I miss you, sha-la la la la

I miss you, I miss your smile
And I still shed a tear every once and a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go, and I need you to know
I miss you, sha-la la la la, I miss you

Thursday...nap time...

Oscar LOVES his bike. This is him at the place we stayed the other day. And Bella at Waihi Beach!

I'm totally going to start blogging and posting pics about the kids and what I'm up to... which most of the time is nothing.

I started this a couple summers ago for a film communication class... obviously!

Too bad I didn't use it while I was traveling Europe last year. I just didn't update in general... still haven't written it out. Maybe I'll actually write and post some pics up in some sort of order... but I doubt it!
